  • According to Andrew Marr it is better to never wash or shampoo one's hair. Any comments?

He's right - you should never need to wash your hair. The only reason hair gets greasy and smelly is precisely because we wash it too much. Shampoo strips the scalp of its natural oils and when washed, it goes onto overdrive to produce more.

If you stop washing it (you can rinse it with water, just don't use shampoo), it starts to clean itself after about 6 weeks - I did it once for a year and it didn't smell or seem dirty at all. The only reason I now wash my hair is because I have it long and use straighteners, which dries it out.

But if you leave it completely to its own devices and don't tamper with it by colouring/styling/heat-drying it, it will be fine :)According to Andrew Marr it is better to never wash or shampoo one's hair. Any comments?
How about, eeeeewwwwww?According to Andrew Marr it is better to never wash or shampoo one's hair. Any comments?
true, the natural oils in your hair will keep it healthy
If you live on a desert island, with no parasites, have no skin conditions, and have no-one to offend, he's probably right.
Better for who??? Thats disgusting. And who the hell is Andrew Marr?? His hair must look like he has had 10W40 poured on his head.
Is Andrew Marr bald? I'm not sure where he's getting this idea, but it's better to wash and condition your hair regularly than to let it just be subject to weather damage.
Have you seen people who never shampoo their hair? It looks bloomin' awful! Believe me, I've seen people who preach this crap, and it's utter rot.

Centuries ago, most of us didn't really need to wash our hair. The air itself was cleaner because we weren't burning fossil fuels at a rate of knots. So if you live somewhere really primitive with no-one around to offend, go ahead and try it.
Ewww! I don't know who Andrew Marr is but that is just nasty. :P
I'd tell that person to stay at least six feet away from me.
He is an idiot. I hope he shaves his head.
it is possible for your hair to clean itself with natural oils, and it is kept just as clean as it you wash it.

however if you have been using shampoo etc... on your hair this stops the natural oils from being produced and cleaning your hair, these however kick in again after about 5 months of not washing your hair.

    so stick to the shampoo.
No it isn't you filthy beast.
I sell organic produce at a local market.

Some of my customers are a group of artists all living together in a creative commune. They are lovely people %26amp; I consider them friends but my God they reek. They are all living back to nature with no man made chemicals in their diet or on their bodies. My eyes literally water when they come 2ft close to me.I have long hair %26amp; a beard %26amp; once went 3 months without a proper bath or shower while working in the artic . I'll tell you the minute I got home I must of spent 2hrs in the shower %26amp; went thru a whole bottle of shampoo. To this day I can;t go a day without running water over my head %26amp; body.
I f I don't wash my hair everyday I look and feel like cr-p. I an old geezer and still have great hair.
You need to wash!! If you are concerned, use non chemical formulas. Organical shampoo's are great. Wash ever other day as well. I do think we as a civilized world need to wash....to stop disease, lice, dander etc.
That may well be true but I would prefer to pass.

Tresemme shampoo and conditioner is very good, as is the Aussie brand. If you use hair straighteners make sure you use moisturising shampoo for dry or damaged hair to minimise the damage. ghd straighteners are good. Consider taking a skin hair and nails vitamin suppliment pill to help it grow and be in good condition.
    Pantene Pro-V
once your hair has grown it is in effect dead so any repairing work that you do on it is mostly cosmetic. however there are some salon treatments that will repair some of the bonds in the cortex and also the scales on the cuticle but if you do not keep this going it will still only be a temporary thing.

you need to make sure that you dont use crappy shampoos, towel dry your hair BEFORE your conditioner goes on, leave on as normal then rinse off and finish with a cool rinse.

you could also have a CLEAR vegetable colour put on at the salon. this will give the hair condition a boost and add a lot to the shine.

watch your diet, make sure that you drink plenty of water, eat your veggies etc as the hair basically acts as a barometer as to how you are treating the rest of your body and make sure you get it trimmed on a regular basis.

A good salon session will give you a quick fix but you need to think more long term.
it does not matter what shampoo u use. get some hair strenghers.

What good shampoo to use that don't make ur hair dry and etc?

I like White Rain... Works for me... @What good shampoo to use that don't make ur hair dry and etc?
TRESemme shampooWhat good shampoo to use that don't make ur hair dry and etc?
the shampoo that works best on my hair are sunsilk, paul mitchel and john freida. they work rly good for me
herbal essence is really good, im in clorhine all the time and my hair is in good condition
I use Pantene a lot, but I'm not sure if its the best brand.
Pantene Pro V shampoo and conditioner are the best. I use it and my hair is never frizzy and if you get water of your hair it will be very soft and wont get frizzy. I recommend you try both of them but never give the 2 in one it doesnt do much.
For me pantene works the best.

and it makes your hair feel thick, not dry, plump and smell great!
    try sunsilk hydra somthing.

    sunsilk is a good brand.

or try some of the daily moisture renewal shampoos from pantene proV.

    =]
Washing your hair everyday will dry it out because you are washing away the natural oils your scalp makes. There really isn't that much of a difference in shampoos, just make sure it has silicone in it to hydrate your hair. I also suggest using a leave-in cream or conditioner.

I have thin hair that tends to get oily. What 2in1 shampoo/conditioner should I use?

I normally use separate but when in a rush I don't have time to use separates!I have thin hair that tends to get oily. What 2in1 shampoo/conditioner should I use?
Use garnier (sp?) Or Pantene!I have thin hair that tends to get oily. What 2in1 shampoo/conditioner should I use?
Just start washing your hair with shampoo. Conditioner is not good forever ones hair. Especially people who's hair gets oily quick.
My hair is the same way don't use conditioner for a while[or put a little on the ends . My hair specialist recommended Garnier Fructus or Head and Shoulders Dandruff Shampoo.....DO NOT use Herbal Essense it makes your hair VERY oily
    dandruff shampoo
Garnier Fructis or Head %26amp; Shoulders... the only ones i can vouch for... i hope it helps
    Pert Plus
Try the acai herbel essences shampoo. It works great it's 2 in 1. My hairs the same way. It works wonders! Good luck I hope I helped!
Lik every girl in the world use head and sholders....FOr every type of hair!
It's better to use a separate shampoo and conditioner, use a shampoo for oliy hair and only put conditioner on the mids to ends.
If you have thin hair that normally gets oily, then I wouldn't use a conditioner at all. The conditioner will just flatten your hair more giving it an even less full look. Use a volumizing shampoo only like Pantine's volumizing shampoo, and stay away from conditioners.
Try sumthing which adds volume like sunsilk shampoos , and for oily hair try head and shoulders .
well, ive always loved pantene its really good. but i would have to say that 2 in 1s are deffinetely not the way to go. you should use pantene shampoo in conditioner. it may take more time (like 2 more minutes then using 2 in one) but the results are SO much better.

    hope i helped,

What's the best shampoo for oily hair with dandruff ?

    head and shoulders anti-dandruff!!!!

xWhat's the best shampoo for oily hair with dandruff ?
    Nizoral Shampoo

Dandruff is often known as ';dry scalp';, but people with oily scalps tend to suffer most. An oily scalp also supports the growth of P. ovale.

Nizoral is the only shampoo containing a patented active ingredient known as ketoconazole (discovered by Dr. Paul Janssen in Beerse, Belgium).

This ingredient is medically proven to be effective against P. ovale and acts directly to inhibit growth of the fungus.

Most other anti-dandruff shampoos work by normalising the pH of the scalp. Nizoral is the most well-studied anti-dandruff shampoo available today. There is over a decade of clinical experience with Nizoral.

This product is the number one choice of doctors and pharmacists, who have recommended an anti-dandruff shampoo to millions of dandruff sufferers all over the world.

Nizoral shampoo is also unique in that it's effect is long-lasting. Even after rinsing, Nizoral carries on working for several days. This means that you don't need to use Nizoral every day making it extremely cost-effective.

I had this problem too, go and buy yourself Selson Blue Medicated treatment. It comes in a blue bottle with a red top. It's kind of pricey for it's size but it's well worth it.

Only use it like 2 or 3 times a week. It's really strong and doesn't smell too pleasant DX!
only salon brands that are specifiably for oily / dandruff hair..
Any dandruff shampoo will work even if your hair is oily.

Sorry I didn't vote on the one I preferred. They were all good answers. I wouldn't have picked TR's because the Johnson shampoo makes her hair frizzy.

6daphnies answer was my pick with several good choices. Anything with soy milk was good too. Report Abuse
What is the best shampoo to use on my 6 yr. old daughter's thick, wavy hair?
    anything with soy milk
I usually perscribe to my clients' children a very gentle cleanser and a conditioner with detangling properties. Rusk Calm shampoo and conditioner, Bed Head Moisture Maniac shampoo and conditioner, Halo Hydrating shampoo and conditioner, Graham Webb Super Silk shampoo and conditioner, Logics DNA shampoo and conditioner, and Bumble and bumble Alojoba shampoo and conditioner all work very well.
    dove shampoo
Eubus- the pink one smells a lot better, Johnson's classic and it's conditioner if needed, or a good shampoo and conditioner from Health and Bio products stores.
My neice has very thick wavy hair and we use this product called a caramel conditioner that softens her hair tremendesly. We use that once a month and in between that we use a this all natural ginger bar and aloe conditioner. It works wonders !

dove advanced therapy shampoo and conditioner works... i use it
    Kali and smooth mitti(Soil).
If you can afford them, use Loreal Elvive shampoo and conditioners. They are the best.

Garniers are also very good. Try Garnier Fructis.
    use himalaya
it actualy depends on the content of the shampoo lesser the amount of milder acid in it more effectice nd healtly ....nd certinally at the end of the day eat healty nd drink atleast 10 glass of water every day
nexus products are the best in my opinion ..they do what they claim they do....
I have this same problem. My hairstylist said that Aussie is the best for moisturizing hair and making it smooth.

You can find Aussie at Target, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, almost everywhere :)

I get the hydrating shampoo, then get what's called ';Three-minute miracle'; start at the roots and then lather the rest of your head and hair, let it sit for three minutes, then rinse with cool, not hot water. This will give it a little shine. Hope this works!
well i think a herbal shampoo would do a good job. one of my male friends used to have really rough hair and he was advised for a herbal one as its good and harmless as well...biotique is a herbal shampoo easily available in the market..1 thing more , according to me a good shampoo is transparent.

um, u can try to use Pantene Pro-V, which is the best Shampoo (and conditioner, i think) that u can use. there are different kinds of shampoos in Pantene Pro-V, and I think they have one for curls, but I'm not sure...

Be patient...it takes hair two weeks to get used to a shampoo/conditioner/spray/etc. hair product
the loreal elvive collection are the best shampoos and conditioners.

my hairdresser said not to buy dove, pantene, herbal essences, sunsilk or tresseme, cause they put a silicone in your hair which is bad in the long run. so yeah loreal or john freida
For the curl amplifer try Paul Mitchell express style Round Trip i paid $14.00 for a 6.8fl.oz bottle at a hair salon, I love it and it makes you're hair smell so good! and the bottle last a long time you only need to use a little.
Pantene curl products make ur hair naturally look rlly curly wihtout the crunchy i hav to much gell in my hair it looks like dandruff feelish i luv it it even works for my naturaly board straight hair xD

Whats the best shampoo for hair thats thin and straight?

i use tressame' products. it is what i have found that works best for me. next in line would be suave. on most brands and bottles they will print different hair types each formula is specifically designed for so look out for those kind of things, but don't use anything that will weigh your hair down. there are some shampoos that will add volume to it not 100% sure on the brand though. good luck and good hair days to yaWhats the best shampoo for hair thats thin and straight?

    DOVE
    pantene or herbal essances
You want to stay away from shampoos that are high in petroleum like pan-teen because they weigh our hair down and build up on your hair. I would suggest dove its real light and the moose conditioner is great.

if like me youre on a budget that doesnt stretch to GHDs then Remmington make really great straighteners from around 拢20(upwards).the last 2pairs i bought were from them and work brilliantly...as for products i love the Vo5 products that come in red packaging(all cost 拢3-4 in superdrug)..even the ones that arent specifically straightening products have heat protection in them..i use the 'whipped mousse' before drying my hair which keeps it smooth and straight..and if im going to straighten it then the 'tame and shine taming spray' protects and makes your hair really shiney and smooth...my hair can be dry frizzy and wavy and these work best for me from everything ive tried.xx
Hi, however good your products are ultimately its the straighteners that are going to keep your hair straight so id recommend Ebay for some GHD straighteners- they really are pretty much the best out there. You could pick a pair up for 拢75-80 if not less.

Here are some products i use to help keep my normally dry hair in great condition..

I use a 3 minute miracle intensive conditioner from Aussie (approx 拢3.99 but check out both Boots and Superdrug for offers as often is on BOGOF 3 for 2 etc) as part of my washing routine. Then use a leave in conditioner Redken Anti Snap is brilliant (try Jason Shakey online - you can google it to find the link)

For the straightening products you cant beat Redken Align Utlra Straightening Heat Protect Balm,i found an auction on Ebay if you ever use it:

This really works - my hairdresser used it on my hair and it not only aids straightening but it doubles up as a heat protector. Also available at Jason Shankey online or here:

GHDs they r th best straighteners out there, however a bit expensive, they cost aroound 100 pounds, but also another pair of good straighteners are remingtons. i bought mine from superdrug for 45 pounds and yu can change the tempereature to suit yur hair. oh yeh btw GHDs are availabole in all good hairdressers such as RUSH.oh yeh and dont use any hair products with them!
i dont know if the UK sells this type of straightener... but its called ';CHI'; and it is the best straightener out there, atleast i think soo, the only negative thing about it is its high price. and a hair product line, called ';nexxus';, works wonders on out of control hair, my friend has crazy curly hair, and these products help so much for her.

Is there a shampoo or gel to darken some grey hair ?

i have some grey hair , not all but mainly around the side,s , is there a shampoo that can darken these area s without useing a dye thank,sIs there a shampoo or gel to darken some grey hair ?
Yes, Grecian 2000 does exactly that. You can get it from Boots or most chemists/supermarkets.Is there a shampoo or gel to darken some grey hair ?
Well they do shampoos that are for coloured hair. I'd suggest using one for brown hair because I think it will darken your hair a little bit. My natural hair colour is a dark blonde. At first I didn't want to dye it so I used a shampoo for blonde hair. It lightened it. So I would think the same thing would work for darkening hair. x
get some foils i did and they cover your grey and give you a boost there';s all kinds of colours and people of all ages can get them

Instead of the Shampoo you use eat lots of raw, uncooked Spinach! Very good for you and your hair when you're trying to grow it!Hair lenghting shampoo?
there really is no magical chemical take very good care of your hair, take your vitamins esp. b-12 , be healthy. You can use shampoos with keratin and stuff like that to make your hair stronger. but you'll have to be patient. your hair grows naturally about 6 inches in a year. The healthier you are the faster your hair tends to grow.
i never knew about that lol
i'm sorry i dont think there is such thing.
There is no such thing. Hair simply can't grow that fast for a lot of people. You just have to wait it out. Sorry.

If you mix bleach powder and shampoo, would it strip my coloured hair?

apparently it does, would this work? i really wana no a way of getting rid of the colour i have dyed my hairIf you mix bleach powder and shampoo, would it strip my coloured hair?
You'll get rid of the dye, yes. Too bad you will also burn your hair off.If you mix bleach powder and shampoo, would it strip my coloured hair?
it won't be powerfull enough to strip your hair, because the ';volume'; that you add to the bleach is what is doing alot of the lifting, and even that can't strip your hair all of the way. You need to go to the a salon and get effy salt done, but it will cost alot,

if you dyed your hair dark and you want it light the best thing to do for right now is to go and get alot of highlights done that will lighten it up a bit.
i've never done this, so i can't guarantee that it works, but i have had many stylists tell me never to use Prell shampoo because it strips color. it's that really old school shampoo in a green bottle. also, my boyfriend has it stockpiled at their house and when i dyed his hair it out very quickly.. i think it was because of the shampoo. i'm not sure though, but i think it might be worth a shot. it's like $3.
Why in the first place would you put bleach and soap together. Bleach is a very very concentrated base substance. Bleaching your hair with shampoo will create a blond look to your hair and also you will severely burn your scalp and other parts of you body if it comes in contact. You will also ruin the hair follicles and your hair will be patchy when it comes back in.
    ya

Does anyone know a really good shampoo that i can use cause i have curly hair and its hard to manage, and comb

I have a hard time combing it cause i have thick wavy/curly hair! Any suggestions???Does anyone know a really good shampoo that i can use cause i have curly hair and its hard to manage, and comb
When you wash your hair, do it in the shower so that your hair stays relatively straight. Don't pile it on your head when you shampoo it or swirl it around. Wet it and apply the shampoo. Then use just your fingertips to go into the hair to get to the scalp. Let the suds run down your hair instead of tangling it as you wash it. Use a conditioner made for curly hair if you want but again don't swirl or tangle your hair when you apply it. Rinse standing directly under the shower head to keep your hair as straight as possible. Pat the excess water out of it. Use a spray on detangler if you want to do so. Comb through it with your fingers gently then a wide tooth comb.

Remember the rougher your treat it wet the more tangled it will be when you want to style it.

I hoped that helps and I envy you your curls!Does anyone know a really good shampoo that i can use cause i have curly hair and its hard to manage, and comb
    sunsilk
try Pantene Pro-V Hydrating Curls line, and Charles Worthington Results Instant Curl Reviver Spray ( it detangles and defines your curls), and use a wide tooth comb, and DON';T BRUSH IT WHEN IT'S WET, THAT BREAKS YOUR HAIR AND CREATES THE FRIZZ!!!hope that helps
dove is great i have curly hair so i use the intense moisture
Garnier Fructice, and use shine spray and alot of condition because it weighs down the hair and it wont be so frizzy, then use a spray in condition that you can leave in so it combs through easy

try it and then give me 10 points please.
frizz ease. i use the whole 5 step process cuz it works best. stay away from cheap brands, for $1.99, you won't be getting anything good.
I have curly hair too and I use the John Frieda shampoos
Use a leave in conditioner it helps my daughter.
    garnier fructis

or mane n' tail (available at Sally's)

or beyond the zone noodle head shampoo/conditioner - also available at sally beauty supply
yah u can use curl around by frizz-eaza and curly q's!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anti dandruff oil/shampoo/sheen/anything for really flaky, dry hair?

Tomorrow I'm getting my hair in extensions, and I need something to protect my scalp from dandruff, so I won't come to school with a super itchy scalp. Preferable better than/as good as Sulfur 8 please (and something that smells better).Anti dandruff oil/shampoo/sheen/anything for really flaky, dry hair?
T-Gel or T-Sal works like a DREAM. T-Gel smells a little funny, but T-Sal doesn't smell bad and it worked miracles for my dry scalp. Also, anything with mint in it should do good. Good luck, hon! :)Anti dandruff oil/shampoo/sheen/anything for really flaky, dry hair?
I have heard that Tea Tree shampoos work pretty good for that

    Hair-growing shampoo??

should i try it and how long will it takes?Hair-growing shampoo??
Nothing you put ON your hair will have any effect on it's rate of growth.......hair's growth takes place under the surface of the scalp at the follicle root. The only way to have any effect on the body's ability to produce stronger hair at a faster rate is by providing systemic support which means vitamins that are taken internally. Then the body has the chemicals it needs to form strong hair at its fastest possible rate.Hair-growing shampoo??
The best way to make your hair grow is massaging your head. I do not know how hair gropwing shampoo works but I will have a guess that the bottle tells you to massage it in for a minute or something like that.

Massaging the head makes your circulation work better and therefor you will have a more productive head!
    Good LUck

For Frizzy hair.. these ussually work really good.. and i have some more tips at the bottom.. which are great for healthy hair... so good luck!

    - Anything from the brand FrizzEase works preety awesome. So does Infusium 23 shampoos.

*Hair still frizzy? Take a curling iron to the top layers. It will only take a second, and the heat will zap the frizz out.

*1 advacado, and 1 tsp. Olive Oil. Mash the advacado, and add the olive oil. Mix. massage into hair, leave in for 20 minutes. Wash hair as you normally would. You can double this 'recipe' if your hair is exceptionally thick or long.

    * Mayonnaise. Yeah, sounds pretty gross.. But it will make your hair smooth and soft. Apply it to hair, leave it in for 10-15 minutes Rinse out, wash hair as you normally would.

Tips To Stop Hair Loss %26amp; Keep Healthy Hair Here are some hair care tips that you can use to help stop hair loss and keep your existing hair healthy and looking great. Please don't take these tips lightly. They are very important . The only thing they require is your time and commitment.

    - Massage your scalp with your fingertips (not your nails) daily to stimulate and promote circulation to your scalp and reduce excess fallout. Invert your head while you shampoo %26amp; massage your scalp. This helps promote blood circulation to the head.

    - Essential oils %26amp; tea . To stimulate scalp circulation, massage the scalp with rosemary essential oil or rinse hair with tea made from sage.

    - Comb or brush your hair and scalp gently in the morning and at night. This helps break up hardened oils (sebum) that are clogging your hair follicles. Doing this alone has produced new hair growth. Do not over do combing or brushing.

    - keep a distance from dryer's heat. When using blow dryers, always keep the heat a good distance from your scalp and hair. Avoid heating the scalp and hair excessively. Excessive heat will increase hair loss, and excess fallout.

    - Avoid getting hair creams, lotions, styling gels and sprays directly on the scalp as they will clog your hair follicles. Use a light hold spray if you must.

    - After swimming in a pool, shampoo your hair as soon as possible to remove any chlorine residue. Chlorine is extremely damaging to the hair and scalp.

    - Avoid over-exposing your hair and scalp to the wind and sun. Good hair care over a long period really makes a difference!

    - Avoid tight hats and caps as they contribute to poor circulation, depriving the hair of proper nutrition and stunting new hair growth. The sweat, dirt and grime around the rim inhibit follicle health and contribute to build-up.

    - Always consult your health care provider for extreme causes of excess fallout and thinning. A medical condition or medication could be causing hair loss side-effects.

    - Strive for balance and harmony in both your personal and professional lifestyle. High stress factors can cause your body to react by fluctuating hormone levels. This in turn causes excessive oil secretion (sebum) which results in hair loss.

    - Pregnancy, nursing, menopause, and even birth control medication can cause constant changing factors on your nutritional needs and hormonal levels which contribute to hair loss and excess fallout.

    - Avoid ';crash and fad'; diets. Proper nutritious meals along with vitamin and mineral supplements are a key factor for healthy hair and skin.

    - Good hair care starts with awareness. These hair care tips, if followed consistently, will reduce excess fallout, hair loss, and promote new hair growth.

    - Reduce hair loss effects by increasing your intake of vitamin C found in fresh fruits and vegetables, particularly citrus fruit and juices, parsley, broccoli, green peppers and black currants. Take a vitamin B complex everyday or brewers yeast. Increase your intake of protein found in meat, fish, liver, wheat germ, dried cooked beans and peas, tofu, cheese, milk and eggs.

    - Take dietary supplements such as Vitamin B6, zinc %26amp; saw palmetto. Supplements are useful when you can't get enough from natural food sources.

    - The Chinese believe that hair is nourished by the blood, and therefore influenced by the kidney %26amp; liver. Treatment is aimed at these organs using fleece flower root, wolfberry fruit or mulberry fruit.

    - Eliminate stress or else it can be disastrous to your precious hair!

    - Get enough sleep. Sleeping well is essential for the health of your hair as well as for the rest of your body.

There are ways you can help stop the grease from appearing but you have to work at it.

Do not wash everyday. The cleaner your hair is the more it can seep into your glands and harder it is to get rid of. When you do wash make sure you are washing with a cleaning shampoo and scrubbing the build up off. Take in mind that you also have to have a ph-balanced mild shampoo and lite scrubbing is recommended. Try to avoid conditioner at the roots, apply in the middle or on the ends.

Try to avoid oil in your daily food intake. And do eat more vegetables. You could visit your doctor but only after you check and consider your diet, drugs, alcohol, and your fatty food intake. Let's face it we see what McDonalds can do to your heart in a month, can you image your hair. You would be dripping everywhere.

Maybe it's time to change your shampoo. Ask your stylist what she or he would recommend. Avoid using shine products at all costs. Keep away from two-in-one shampoos and conditioners and any frizz serums.

To fix at the moment, rub a little Talcum Powder on your dried hair at the roots. Just make sure you wash it out. I wish they would event that magic product, but this will help until they do.

Here are 10 tips for to keep your hair strong, smooth, shiny and beautiful!

    1. Keep your diet balanced, and eat protein and calcium rich foods. Stay away from junk foods! This is essential for healthy hair.

    2. Foods and supplements to nourish your hair:

    * Beans

    * Yogurt

    * Almonds

    * Vitamin B

    * Fish

    * And of course, the magic potion for beauty - WATER

    3. Before washing your hair, comb it well to make sure all knots has been loosened from your hair.

    4. Before applying shampoo, use warm water (35 to 38 degrees Celsius) to run through your hair to rinse and wet it thoroughly.

    5. When applying shampoo or conditioner, don't use your fingernails to scrape through your hair. Instead, use your palm and fingertips to massage your scalp and hair gently, in circular motions. This will help the circulation and also help to keep your hair shiny and smooth.

    6. After rinsing away all the shampoo, run water over your hair for at least another half a minute (3 minutes is best) to ensure there are no remains of shampoo remaining in your hair, since this will cause a great deal of damage to your scalp.

    7. When applying hair treatment products, do so just after you have washed your hair, so that your hair can absorb all the good stuff while it is half wet. This will be the best time for it to absorb nourishment.

    8. NEVER go to bed with your hair wet! Hair that is half wet is most easily broken, and if you sleep during this time, your hair will be rubbing against each other, damaging your hair in the most terrible way.

    9. Too much pressure may lead to hair loss! Relax... try some good relaxation methods such as soaking in a nice scented bath, listening to music, and eating healthy comfort foods such as strawberries and grapes.

    10. Perming and coloring seriously damages your hair. Avoid it as much as possible. Also, when using hair setting products such as gel or putty, use as little as possible, because they hurt your scalp and hair. Wash them out thoroughly afterwards with a shampoo specially created for removing styling products.
try garnier fructise ';long and strong'; it helped my friend. good luck.
Who makes it I want to know, as i have never heard of hair growing shampoo before.

your hair normally grows about 1/2'; per month
I'm sorry, but there is no such hair-growing shampoo. Who ever

told you that, he could be millionaire now because there are lots of people who have hair loss problems, nothing works. I work in the industry long enough not to know this so called hair-growing shampoo. You could probably talking about shampoo to prevent hair loss. Only prevention not hair growing that is two different things. Please don't waste your money. What you can do

try to massage your scalp everyday and eat healthy foods, that for sure will help you. Hair loss caused of poor nutrition (one factor).

    Hair Coloring Shampoo!?

Well, my mom wont let me dye my hair

I have about a medium brown tone %26amp; i want to to a little but darker so shes letting me buy a coloring shampoo/conditioner since my hairdresser said its best. but i have absoluetly no idea what brand to buy! Any suggestions? i need lasting color dark brown/black. thanks!Hair Coloring Shampoo!?
Loreal professional carries a line of deposting conditioners and shampoos and Aveda Black malva works really well and if you live by a aveda salon or school you can make what is called a ';personal blend'; and you pick your own scent and they put color depost in the shampoo/conditioner. And if you only buy one I would recomend the conditioner it deposits more than the shampoos do.Hair Coloring Shampoo!?
you can't dye your hair with a shampoo and conditioner. they are not strong enough to make any change to your natural color of hair. They are only designed to impart a subtle hint of color to already dyed hair to help maintain it's lifespan, which is only about a month or so. Your hairdresser should have not told you that, it's wrong, unless there is a miscommunication somewhere.
get briliant brunette and i forget but there is a kind and it say like light brown to dark brown and vice versa not exactly those colors but like hazelnut to something else. trust me it works best
before i was allowed to dye my hair, i used aveda black malva. it really does work, although when i did it it gave my hair a greenish tint when i went in the sun. it also does not last very long, you have to keep using the stuff. the conditioner does work better then the shampoo, too. good luck!

  • Hair and shampoo question?

is it bad for leave shampoo in your hair because i use shampoo as gel and i use pantene pro v 2 in 1 and i only shower everyother day is that bad?Hair and shampoo question?
You should always completely rinse out your shampoo and use a separate conditioner. Pantene contains wax which damages hair. I would elect not to use gel either as it causes dandruff and actually smells bad. Try using Garnier shampoo, conditioner, and mousse. You should also only leave very little conditioner in your hair, the grease in it causes shoulder and back acne on fair and sensitive skin. The smells won't contrast and overtake each other and they're not expensive. Instead, I would try showering everyday. Not only will it make you smell nicer, showering with soap and a wash cloth or rough surface is the only way to rid of dead skin which causes clogged pores which results in acne.Hair and shampoo question?
Shampoo tends to dry out your hair.

conditioner is meant to replenish the oils lost from shampooing your hair. however if youre using a 2 in 1 i dont know.

but anyway i suggest you buy some gel.

It's very bad...I'm surprised your hair isn't snowing (dandruff). Try buying hair gel instead of using your shampoo for gel
yes! u should use herbal essence infused with orchid milk and coconut!

Suggest a good shampoo for dry thin damaged and relaxed hair?

my hair takes more than half of my getting-ready time even though i usually tie it up in a bun or a ponytail.still its a major cause of concern and usually leads to frustration.i have been on medicated shampoos for too long to know any good moisturising shampoos.what im looking for is a shampoo that will add body and moisture to my lifeless hair.Suggest a good shampoo for dry thin damaged and relaxed hair?
Garnier Fructis products work really well, or anything by the Loreal brand for that matter. I would recommend the 'Dry or damaged, fortifying shampoo.' It is a great product and helped me with the same problem you are refering too!Suggest a good shampoo for dry thin damaged and relaxed hair?
yea bioinfusion is good for all types. my hair is extra shiny healthy and beautiful!!!!!!!! :)
Motions or Pantene Relaxed and Natural.
I had dry thin boring hair untiil I got the pink kind of SunSilk shampoo and conditioner for tottaly put together hair.
I personally like Creme of Nature's shampoo. There is this media forum online where they give advice and what not about hair. They talk about dry, relaxed, breakage of hair you can get a lot of information from it. Just click on the link. http://forum.blackhairmedia.com/
I make my own shampoo! It's really easy and makes your hair really silky. It's amazing. All it is is peanut butter (to add texture), some regular shampoo (i prefer garnier fructis), lemon juice (to add color), and some vanilla yogurt (for great smell and more texture).

I have really thin hair and this works on me. Ever since my stylist told me to try it i've been using it and my hair has been thick and lucious. =]] I hope it helps.
The ponytail ties may be breaking your hair. Make sure you are buying the ones without the metal things on them.

I like to use Burt's Bees. The less chemicals the better.
Any shampoo that is a volumizer....will say so on the bottle
Nioxin shampoo is amazing, it even makes your hair grow faster.
I am a fan of garnier. They have a deep-conditioner that is lovely. Try getting volume through a mouse, and stick to maybe bed-head mouisure manic shampoo %26amp; conditioner to make your hair more healthy. And try a shine serum or a texturizer.
I have been using Paul Mitchell's hair products and am very satisfied with the results. He offers a vast array of products to meet the needs of your hair. For your problem, I suggest you use ';Super Skinny Serum'; which adds shine, moisture and body.

I tried something different for a month and all my hair did was get split ends. It is like 5 something each but worth paying the extra for the tube kind.

    Pantene Shine.

it makes my hair really soft%26amp;shiny.
well theres this one by herbal essences that's red and its called long term relationship that makes your hair grow healthier so it would grow better and longer and last longer. and theres this shampoo by pantiene and it has green on it and it makes your hair smooth. hope this works for you!
Suave Natural makes your hair smooth, soft, and shiny as long as you use the shampoo and conditioner.
It depends on what brand works with your hair best. The Pantne Pro V line usually works really great and can repair past damage. It rejuvenates your hair for a sleek look every time. Another great brand is Bumble and Bumble that can be purchased in a beauty store. Even though you said that you didn't want to put products in your hair, right after I come out of the shower and towel dry my hair, I use two simple products that make my hair salon perfect! Here is the link for the two products that can be purchased together in a two pack: http://www.hsn.com. Then once your there, type in on the search bar: maxius. After that scroll down to the Maxius Maxiessentials Hair Styling Kit. If you decide to buy it then here is the amount that I put in, a drop the size of a quarter and then three little drops of the small clear bottle. Hope this helps!

Dose all shampoo's clean your hair good?

I use Redken color extend and idk if it's cleaning my hair good

or if im not rinseing it all out idkDose all shampoo's clean your hair good?
No not all shampoos are equal!!! i am currently using the same shampoo and i feel like i get a bit if a buildup over the week. so once a week i use Shampoo three by Paul Mitchell. that cleanses the hair, not good to use everyday though because it will dry out your hair (and make color fade if you color your hair) hope this helps!Dose all shampoo's clean your hair good?
Haven't tried all shampoos but I try to switch shampoos when there is a buildup.
well its prob. only for hair dyed or colored red, not natural red or any other colors. switch to a deep cleaning shampoo like the ones neutrogena has for a while then go back to redken
that is usally pretty good but i would try rinsing it put better.

but dont use pantene it cleans good but it leaves build up on yor ends:)
Try rinsing better and if you don't get resluts change shampoo/\.
Some shampoos just smell good, like the victoria's secret ones but I'm sure you dont use that, Pantene is the best ever for both men and women.
Some shampoos can leave a film on your hair and scalp...try Nioxin...it takes all of the stuff other shampoos and conditioners can leave behind. It might be hard to find but its worth it!

Can anyonesuggest a volumeizing shampoo for me... my hair volume is vey low and i have dull hair...?

pls suggest a remedy for me...Can anyonesuggest a volumeizing shampoo for me... my hair volume is vey low and i have dull hair...?
The two best things I can suggest is using Aussie shampoo and conditioner (purple bottle) and blowdrying your hair upside down. It works great for me! Also if you really want to add a plump to your lump get a tangleing comb for your roots so you can hand pick where you want maximum volume.

    Hair toner/shampoo?

whats the best blue or violet base toner for blonde hair? or shampoo also violet based)?Hair toner/shampoo?
Schwarzkopf has a nice blueing shampoo. Sounds like you already know how it works. I wouldn't use an actual toner on your hair though....not unless you spoke to a hairstylist who recommended one and she probably wouldn't do that. She would simply do that for you at the salon.

If youre just trying to tone down brassy tones, go for the schwarzkopf BC sold in salons or beauty supply stores. Just don't over dot it with this shampoo. You can end up looking quite violet and you dn't want that!! I would use it maybe 2ce a week if you're washing it every day! (lmaybe once a week if you wash it every other day) Good luck!

oh you have pretty hair :) hehe.

there is many many diffrent kind's of straighting balms , i have the one from V05 that you can buy at supermarkets for a couple of dollars - it doesnt cost much but works great. when youu get out of the shower put some straighting balm in it the brush it - or to have a better affect blow dry your hair then put some anti-frizz in it. :) goodluckIs there like a way to straighten my curly hair? maybe like a shampoo? not too much though?
you will ahve to keep perming it becuase then when it dies out it will go curly again... %26lt;33

Don't perm too much..that mistreats hair and it could sometimes make your hair fall out.!

Ive done it alot to perm my curly hair and now i stopped...But my hair fell out..not all of it but a big portion...now I have to keep putting treatments in my hair to fix it but its getting better!

Good Luck and dont perm to much!! =]
maybe you should try mane and tail. it really strengthens your hair. try your best to stay away from chemicals and too much heat in the future. stick to natural products. I found that products you used when you were smaller before you had any chemicals in your hair( you know when your mom was still doing your hair and your hair was thick and natural) work the best. STAY AWAY FROM PERMS AND RELAXERS!!!
    straightening perm.

    ceramic straightener.
Use Garnier Fructisse Sleek and Shine system. Then, once it's dry, put your hair in a ponytail and pull out strands from the bottom of your head up and straighten them. I recommend starting with the back of your hair. Keep pulling small sections out and straightening them until all of hair is straight. Remember, use a ceramic iron. This won't damage your hair like metal irons.

i really don't think they make your hair grow, I think they make it so you don't get split ends as easily and so you can grow it longer before cutting it. but for me herbal essences work well
i use mane and tail, my hair grows i inch per month, i keep it trimmed at middle back
my hair grew alot when i used mane and tail..

Is there like a way to straighten my curly hair? maybe like a shampoo? not too much though?

ironing your hair really does work, i have it on good authority but id be careful if you decide to try it:)Is there like a way to straighten my curly hair? maybe like a shampoo? not too much though?
oh you have pretty hair :) hehe.

there is many many diffrent kind's of straighting balms , i have the one from V05 that you can buy at supermarkets for a couple of dollars - it doesnt cost much but works great. when youu get out of the shower put some straighting balm in it the brush it - or to have a better affect blow dry your hair then put some anti-frizz in it.

STAY AWAY FROM PERMS AND RELAXERS!!!

    ceramic straightener.

    Hair Growth Shampoo?

Okay, so I have Mane N Tail shampoo, and Pantene Beautiful lengths shampoo and conditioner... I haven't used them very long, so I don't know if they really work. Do they? What other shampoos help your hair grow?Hair Growth Shampoo?
I use herbal essances... the type for long hair...

but watch out with mane n tail, it will eventually make you hair smell bad... Hair Growth Shampoo?
i really don't think they make your hair grow, I think they make it so you don't get split ends as easily and so you can grow it longer before cutting it. but for me herbal essences work well
i use mane and tail, my hair grows i inch per month, i keep it trimmed at middle back
my hair grew alot when i used mane and tail..

i think both will work though.

Plz suggest me good shampoo and hair oil for dry hairs and with lots of splits .and proper growth?

Here is the regimen that I use when my hair gets extremely dry in winter and summer. It REALLY helps!!!

    Once or twice a week:

Massage a dollop of mayonnaise into your hair and leave it on for one hour OR comb olive oil through your hair with a wide tooth comb and leave on all night (shampooing it out in the morning).

Shampoo (choose a shampoo for dry, damaged hair. I use Pantene Pro-V.)

Condition your hair and leave conditioner on for 5 minutes (after I put conditioner on, I pull my hair back with a scrunchie while I wash the rest of my body鈥his takes 5 minutes or longer. I also use Pantene Pro-V conditioner).

Towel dry (do not blow dry unless you HAVE to, it will make dry hair even dryer!). Apply a dab of VO5 Conditioning Hairdressing from about the middle of your hair to the tips. Do not apply it to the roots or your hair will look greasy. (It comes in a tube. The box it is packaged in is gold colored).

    Style as usual.

For the rest of the week:

Use the VO5 just on the VERY ENDS of your hair鈥?every morning before styling.Plz suggest me good shampoo and hair oil for dry hairs and with lots of splits .and proper growth?
i feel that garnier shampoo will suit ur hair n about the oil i recommend vatika ita really the best.n for proper growth eat lot of fresh vegetables n fruits n wash ur hair twice a week.hope u got ur answerPlz suggest me good shampoo and hair oil for dry hairs and with lots of splits .and proper growth?
Firstly, split ends equals get a trim to rid yr hair of the split ends. Next you could purchase any of the number of very good home care products that are available at the hairdressers, or make one yrself at home: using olive oil, and other oils that you favor: you put in yr hair, WARMED, and wrap hair, and leave in for a good time - try about an hour; wash out thoroughly. And with shampoo; there are too many brands to really think of a particular one: get one that's good for dry hair; and watch out re blow drying yr hair: this is bad for dry hair unless you do it very very carefully. Seek advice from yr hairdresser about blow drying your hair the right way under those circumstances. Good luck with your efforts.
    I like infusium 23 for split ends and oily hair. You can always use what i used to: mix one cup mayonaise and one raw egg in a bowl. Mix really good. put on your hair and rub around so it gets on all of it. Wrap hot towels on there for 30 minutes. change everytime it starts getting cool. then shampoo your hair. Also you can rinse your hair with beer and then water. ';country girl remedy';

Which shampoo & conditioner is better from dry , damage , Rough curly hair & spiting hair?

I think the Garnier Oil Repair Conditioner is the ultimate.. for shampoo i would say the pink lorea'l elvive.. trust me... try it..Which shampoo %26amp; conditioner is better from dry , damage , Rough curly hair %26amp; spiting hair?
For dry damaged hair, look for creamy shampoos. Do not opt for clear, translucent shampoos like Clairol Herbal Essences. A good brand is Vidal Sassoon. Look at the formula ingredients, you'll see that they use what is only necessary, in other words, basic ingredients for everyday wash that's for dry hair. (Why Im saying this is because some shampoos like Loreal use way too many ingredients, it scares you to think what synthetic poison your scalp is absorbing). Condition hair 1inch away from the scalp with vidal sassoon conditioner.Which shampoo %26amp; conditioner is better from dry , damage , Rough curly hair %26amp; spiting hair?
Try this, I just advise on dry face. Mash papaya and apply on hair for 10 mins before you wash your hair. It is good for dry hairs and skin too.Apply little olive oil for spiting hair.
I think Dove is the best shampoo.

i like sunsilk shampoo and conditioner. i buy it at wal-mart for $3.50 each. not anything designer or fancy but it gets the job done on my curly hair! What shampoo and conditioner is the best for curly hair?
By ';calm';, do you mean curly, but without the frizz?

Pantene Hydrating Curls or Pantene Texturize are really good. They are very moisturizing which is key. You don't have to buy these, but look for shampoos and conditioners with ';moisturizing'; in the name.

Also, apply your styling products on your hair when it is wet or damp. Then, don't mess with your hair until it's completely dry.
My hair is very curly and I find either pantene or herbal essences shampoo works best and sunsilk definatelt did not work for me.

You will also need to use some sort of product. For this I find that a more expensive brand is best...Something from Bumble and Bumble maybe...
    Nexxus Therapee %26amp; Nexxus Humectress
So my sister has insanly curly hair, she uses redkin, her hair is amazingly tame!!! you get at a solon, its a little bit expensive, but to her totally worth it. i have curly hair too, not as bad but i use bedhead, also salon. I LOVE it. it makes my hair soft and when you buy it in bulk its not that expensive. Now i also use pantene frizz control smoothing balm. (its gods gift to curly hairr) you can get it at almost every cvs. (except the ones in MA because i buy them all off the shelves :))

Best shampoo and conditioner for dry and colored blonde hair?

my hair rests mid back, the ends are very brittle and split and my hair is pretty dry. Of course when I blow dry it out and style it it looks excellent but I need a good product that will nourish and help my hair stay healthyBest shampoo and conditioner for dry and colored blonde hair?
Use good products not Pantene, Herbal Essence %26amp; Garnier they are silicone products. They make you hair nice at first but as the silicone builds up it locks out moisture your hair weakens %26amp; breaks. Use pro products they last longer because you use less so the extra expense is worth it. The shampoos don't contain a detergent lathering agent so it's weird at first because you are used to lather. Great specialty products are, Nioxxin, Joico K-Pak Reconstructor also Silk Results, Rusk has New Pro Elements Keratin. Nexxus has Humectruss %26amp; Keraphixx. Big Sexy has good general products. Take Biotin %26amp; Vitamin E. There are also shampoos that enhance blonde hair.Best shampoo and conditioner for dry and colored blonde hair?

If money doesnt really matter, then try wen products, theyre really good for moisture, theres also bumble and bumble, they have some purple shampoo that helps color and is really good for your hair

Also, you might not want to wash your hair everyday, it helps because shampoos can strip your hair
Bar none, the best is Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose conditioner. It uses coconut fatty acid as its base moisturizer rather than propelene glycol-a cheap moisturizing agent usually derived from petroleum. Petroleum is an inorganic substance and your skin is organic matter. Petroleum molecules are too large to penetrate your skin and the molecules coat your skin, which blocks any nutrient in the conditioner from penetrating the hair shaft.

I use Honeysuckle Rose conditioner once a week. I apply a good amount and clip up my hair while I shower or bathe. The heat helps my hair absorb this rich, fragrant conditioner.

Been on minoxidil ( R0gaine庐 ) for about a year and a half and have not seen even the smallest amount of regrowth that i almost fell into depression.

My hair only started visibly growing on the balding spot after attempting the various natural techniques to re-grow lost hair for about 1 week plus @ http://www.regrowmyhair.info

I would highly recommend the website easy to follow step-by-step informative guide with pictures to anyone who is suffering from hair loss right now. But remember this isn't a miracle cure for baldness as you will also need to put in some effort in order to see results. And its only a minimum commitment of 15 minutes a day to help re-grow your lost hair. ( Sorry that I can't share the various natural techniques taught as i might be sued for copyright violation )

I am also convinced that a natural approach is a much more safer way of re-growing lost hair compared to those unnatural ways which may involve harsh chemicals that may have serious side effects.

These are the side effects of some common drugs for hair loss treatment :

Minoxidil : Cause a fall in blood pressure, an increase in the heart rate, and weight gain (fluid retention)

Propecia : May cause birth defects in male baby's sex organs if taken by women. Also, potentially irreversible side effects occurring in the group of people taking the drug are erectile dysfunction, ejaculation disorder (decreased volume of ejaculate) and low libido.

    If you're a guy, yes.
No. I read in Instyle Hair magazine you should not shampoo everyday. It said if you work out every day to just run your fingers through your hair as if you are shampooing, but do not use shampoo. Trust me it works and you will look and smell fabulous. Shampooing every day is bad for your hair.
Yes. Or you could just hide it by wearing a hat haha.
Yes! As long as you sweat, your hair will get greasy...
    Yes(:

Can shampooing your hair a lot get black dye out?

I just did my hair l'oreal paris feria 'bright black'...and hate it. I can't really go the salon right now...so that's not an option. But I was wondering what kind of hair color strippers should I get? And how would I do them? And if I shampoo my hair over and over again would the dye come out quickly? Can shampooing your hair a lot get black dye out?
no, that will not help. If anything, it will make your hair excessively dryCan shampooing your hair a lot get black dye out?
Nop it can't hope that i helped
No its permanent, you can't shampoo it out. You could try dieing over it or use some bleach (peroxide). I think theres some products you can get that take out hair die.
sadly, no. Don't try it. it will make your hair dull and dry. if you want it a different color, buy a bleach box die and then another color. that will keep you're hair a different color until you can go to the salon and get it done better.

I have a really oily scalp. Is it alright to condition hair first and then shampoo hair?

A dermatologist had given me this advice when I was complaining about my oil-oozing scalp. But when I told my hairdresser this she told me to never do this. She said shampoo opens the hair cutiles (or scalp pores-can't remember which of the two) while conditionor closes the same. So if you condition before shampooing, the dirt etc gets trapped in the hair.

Now, I am confused about who to believe. The dermatologists should know more but what the hairdresser said also makes sense. My hair is getting really greasy these days so I desperately need a solution.I have a really oily scalp. Is it alright to condition hair first and then shampoo hair?
Wash the hair first with a good shampoo for oily hair. Then condition only the ends or the bottom 1/2 of the hair.I have a really oily scalp. Is it alright to condition hair first and then shampoo hair?
Many people have the misconception that daily conditioning (protection) of their hair will cause flatness or added weight. This challenge is easily resolved by, first, knowing how to physically condition the hair and, second, by understanding the different intended uses of the main 3 types of conditioners, i.e. - rinses, daily and deep conditioners.

Daily conditioning (protecting) any type of hair, from thin %26amp; fine to thick %26amp; frizzy, is basically the same. It is simply the reverse concept of shampooing hair as discussed above - considering that throughout the course of the day the first 3 inches of hair closest to the scalp will receive an adequate supply of naturally-occurring hair oil (sebum). Therefore, if you condition this area with a cr猫me rinse or daily conditioner it can become over-conditioned, heavy %26amp; less manageable. The solution is to apply your conditioner from the mid-shaft (3 inches from scalp) of the hair to the ends. Then using a wide-toothed comb and holding onto the ends of your hair, gently comb the conditioner from mid-shaft to ends for even distribution, detangling and sealing split ends. By the time you finish doing this, the conditioner will have remained within your hair for the appropriate 3 to 5 minutes to be effective in temporarily repairing any damaged or frizzy areas.

The concept for applying deep conditioners is the same as above, however, the time the conditioner is left within the hair must be extended up to 20 minutes to allow penetration into the inner (cortical) layer of the hairshaft - only 10 minutes if your wrap your hair in a moist, hot towel. Deep conditioning should be done sparingly - once per week for most hair types. Deep conditioning the hair more than this is could cause the opposite intended effect. If you over-use a protein-based deep conditioner to strengthen and add body, it could cause the hair to become dry and brittle. If you over-use a moisturizing or oil-based deep conditioner, it could cause your hair to become limp and lifeless.
If you condition then shampoo you will also get your hair tangled really really easy.

Try using a small amount on conditioner (after shampoo) and only use it on the bottom half of your hair from your ears down. Even if you do this every second or third wash.

Change conditioners- avoid ones that go on about mositurising, go for volume boosting ones.
Learn how to keep your hair really well. Don't be harsh with them...they are really essential part of your body. Just visit this website once and you'll be satisfied
Be a bit careful with shampoos for oily skin. it can have opposite effect! if your scalp gets oily only after 2-3 hours after washing it, then yeah, you should go for the shampoo for oily skin. But if your hair is alrite till the next day, using shampoo for oily skin will only make it more oily. Dats wot my dermatologist told me..

and use the conditioner on hair, not the scalp.
    NOOOOO!

do not condition your hair then wash thats a waste of time!!!

if you have a really oily scalp then wash your hair with shampoo meant for oily hair and only apply conditioner to your middle and ends[nowhere near your scalp].and once every two weeks put conditioner through the whole thing and let it sit there for two minutes andd rinse.

Do anti hair loss shampoo really works? 10 points!?

Some of them do yes. Also leaving a hat off helps, taking vitamins for the hair and nails works also... but the best shampoo is the Horse hair tail and mane for your hair and can be brought at Wal-Mart for about 6.00 or a little more or less depending on were you live. Also get the conditioner for it makes the hair strong and helps it grow back. A lot of hair loss is due to stress and weakness of the hair. You will notice a difference in about 3 weeks for I know for my hair started coming out due to so many surgeries and using this shampoo really did the trick. So check with your Dr. if your under a lot of stress, and if you have a lot of bald people in your family, it just may be inherited. Oh another thing, go to Sally's beauty supplies and ask them what they have if you or not happy with this idea, they have everything you can think of and I know that someone there can help you.. So happy hair growing back, My hair is full now and I can wear it anyway I want to. For when I get it cut, no one has to do anything to it but blow dry it and it stays in the style I had it cut in.... my hair dressers love it.. AnnDo anti hair loss shampoo really works? 10 points!?

The normal cycle of hair growth lasts for 2 to 6 years. Each hair grows approximately 1 centimeter (less than half an inch) per month during this phase. About 90 percent of the hair on your scalp is growing at any one time. About 10 percent of the hair on your scalp, at any one time, is in a resting phase. After 2 to 3 months, the resting hair falls out and new hair starts to grow in its place.Depending on your type of hair loss, treatments are available. If a medicine is causing your hair loss, your doctor may be able to prescribe a different medicine. Recognizing and treating an infection may help stop the hair loss. Correcting a hormone imbalance may prevent further hair loss.

Medicines may also help slow or prevent the development of common baldness. One medicine, minoxidil (brand name: Rogaine), is available without a prescription. It is applied to the scalp. Both men and women can use it. Another medicine, finasteride (brand name: Propecia) is available with a prescription. It comes in pills and is only for men. It may take up to 6 months before you can tell if one of these medicines is working.

It is normal to shed some hair each day as part of this cycle. However, some people may experience excessive (more than normal) hair loss. Hair loss of this type can affect men, women and children.

okay thinning hair and baldness is a genetic issue. You have hormones that don't prodce enough which leads to that. sometimes the shampoo works and sometimes they don't. it really depends on what is causing your hair issue. I would seek a dermatologiest.

I am a cosmetologest and have lots of people with this question. you have to be very careful with those stupid ads. if you are bald or have thinning hair they are noy going to make your hair appear full and lustful over night. usually its a topical cream that comes with it and you are supposed to rub it in. No if that stuff really worked i wouldn't be cutting comb overs as much as i do.

I know this is imformation overlaod. i do have good new there is something call nixon with works great to help prevent thinning and baldness. I would also take a multivinam too. your body produces 11 of of 21 viatinm your hair needs. so over time your body can't produce so your folica

    becomes weak.
depends what kind of hair loss you are having

will help hair loss in the back but not front
yea..some..cuz my mom's friend uses em....but apparently they damage ur hair..but if ur loosing hair..i dont think i matters that much! But..YES..they work.

What is the best volumizing shampoo for fine hair?

lol. i have fine hair too! i use Herbal Essences Body Envy shampoo and conditioner. DO NOT get the shampoo and conditioner 2 in 1! It does not do a very good job in either shampooing or conditioning your hair! Herbal Essences Body Envy just gives your hair volume. It doesn't really make your hair thicker.... so i heard from mii friend dat if you cut your hair short it will grow thicker. (cause she used to have thin hair but now she has medium/thick hair)

What is the best volumizing shampoo for thin hair?

I've tried most shampoos, but Dove does indeed have a lighter conditioner. However, the best solution I've come across is to cease using conditioner, or use it less frequently, as it weighs down your hair, and then to do a full blow out using a thickening spray and a natural bristle brush. Rusk Thick seems to work very well. Remember to spray at the roots and lift hair up and away from the roots when blow drying, also avoid hair gel and it creates a stiff and heavier do which will again lessen the effect of fuller hair. Finally, you may also want to procure a teasing comb (less than a dollar at beauty stores I'm sure) and tease at the roots before smoothing hair over the teased roots to hide them. What is the best volumizing shampoo for thin hair?

    i have thick hair,

    my sister has thin hair.

we both use the same shampoo.

it keeps my hair really shiney and it gives hers more body and bounce.
i LOVE dove products, my hair is soo nice now
I really like Aveda's volumizing shampoo and clay conditioner. They're fantastic! They're both really light and leave my hair shiny, but they're a little on the expensive side. When I'm on a budget, I use Body Envy by Herbal Essences. It's a little drying, but it works pretty well. Hope this helps.
i would say the ion line @ sallys is a good bet. %26amp; beyond the zone has an awesome root lifter to make it look evenfuller. :) it comes in a tall silver can if u shake it the can gets cold %26amp; when it's sprayed its cold.
I really like ';Big Sexy Hair'; it's a little pricey, but it gives great results!
